Risk-based water quality control
Methods for analyzing data that characterize the composition and properties of natural, waste and other waters when making decisions on compliance with or violation of established requirements and regulating water relations are developed. It is concluded that modern water and environmental control based on the principle of "absolute confidence" in measuring information is unsatisfactory. Clarified the definition of "accuracy of information" given the statistical significance and metrological provision of evaluation procedures, based on which the proposed scientific basis for water control, based on the concept of acceptable risk of error of the decisions in conditions of instability of controlled parameters and increased uncertainty of the measurements; a generated algorithm of risk-based management of water resources. The material of the monograph is prepared on the basis of author's developments, and its use is illustrated by examples.
